Thomas and William Daniell

A Picturesque Voyage to India; by the Way of China

Thomas Daniell and his nephew William Daniell were draughtsmen, painters and aquatint engravers of landscape, topographical and architectural views. Published between 1795-1808, it was based on hundreds of sketches made during their extensive travels on the Indian subcontinent between 1786 and 1793. While William engraved most of the plates for this work, Thomas both drew and engraved the plates for the eariler 'Views in Calcutta'.
