Cecil Charles Windsor Aldin
(1870-1935)
Aldin's interest in drawing began at an early age. His talent was evident and he continued until his death, to create a legacy of sporting art that today is sought by collectors. His love of the hunt, his dogs, and his unique style of reflecting the humor in many situations was a continuation of an English tradition of comic-serious art (John Leech, Cruishank). His work can be found in many places: ads, book illustrations, individual pieces, some forming a series of events, his own books many of them written and illustrated for children as well as a limited edition of etchings of dog portraits. He loved the rural life of England and depicted life with his unique talent.
