American Ornithology
Alexander Wilson is considered the father of American ornithology. Born on Scotland, he came to the US and produced one of the earliest accounts of ornithology. His nine volumes appeared between 1808-1814 were 76 plates were hand colored. Plates in good condition with little or no foxing are sought after by collectors everywhere.
